- Lyndsay Wasko (@mice_type) is the Alberta artist behind the original wildlife artwork featured on the cloths. Her illustrations celebrate the animals that make Alberta wild and wonderful — and the species AIWC works every day to protect.
Each cloth is designed and printed in Canada using material from Sweden, produced by the original Swedish dishcloth manufacturer and patent holder.
It’s a small change to an everyday routine that can have a meaningful impact!
What is a Swedish Sponge Cloth?
GoodLane's reusable Swedish sponge cloths are designed to replace disposable paper towels and plastic cleaning sponges with a longer-lasting, more sustainable alternative. Made from natural, renewable materials, these cloths are reusable, plastic-free, and compostable at the end of their life. Replace your paper towels and plastic sponges with an eco-friendly alternative that can be used again and again!

How to Use Your Swedish Sponge Cloth
- Soak in Water: Your cloth will become soft and pliable when wet. It may become stiff when dry — simply add water to soften it again!
- Versatile Cleaning: Use it anywhere you would normally use a paper towel or sponge. Wipe counters, wash dishes, clean appliances, wipe windows, polish surfaces, and more.
How to Clean Your Cloth
- Dishwasher: Place your sponge cloth on the top rack and wash it with your dishes.
- Washing Machine: Place your sponge cloth in the washing machine with your regular laundry. Hang to dry — do not tumble dry.
- Boiling Water: For an extra-deep clean, place your sponge cloth in a pot of water and boil it on the stove to sanitize.
